A few years ago we stole an idea for a Christmas card from some dear friends. So for those of you who did not get the card, you can see it here. Chris and I, and one day Caden, list our top ten favorite things from the past year. This past year was so fun watching Caden grow up, I had way more than 10, but you get the idea of what our year was like. We are so blessed in this life and so thankful for Christ’s Birthday on the 25th! :)

Predicting the Future

28 May

I came across this on another blog, I really like it, I think I am going to need to read it everyday for me to start living it!
____________________
The most accurate way to predict the future is to get busy creating it. Though you cannot guess what’s going to happen, you can know for sure what you intend to do.
Do you wish to be in the right place at the right time? Then commit to creating real value in every time and place where you find yourself.

The most reliable way to get in on a good thing is to put forth the effort that makes that good thing real. A surefire way to have good luck is to create your own luck through the actions you take.

It serves no purpose to wish for what you don’t have. Use that energy to fulfill, express and expand upon all the great possibilities you do have.

The more generously you participate in life, the more it will go your way. Always see the positive possibilities in the way things are, and things will work to the benefit of you and those around you.

The future belongs to those who act with commitment, persistence and positive purpose in the present. Use this now moment to make your best predictions for the future come to life.

Today marks 2 years!!!

23 Sep

Two years ago today, it was “OUR” day! Is was a day of getting hair and make up done, hanging out with my best girlfriends and Chris with his guys, having a heart to heart with my mom, watching the guests sing praise and worship from the balcony minutes before I walk down the isle, hearing my dad tell me it’s time to go, and making eye contact immediately with Chris as the double doors open and I start my walk down the isle. It was a day of memories, a day of love and most of all a day of commitment. A commitment that I have been so blessed to give and receive. A commitment that the Lord intended. Chris and I said “I Do” two years ago, danced the night away and started our marriage. Now looking back, I can see that two years ago today I made the best decision of my life. But then again….it was May 12, 2005 – two weeks after Chris and I met that I knew I would being saying “I Do” to this wonderful man. He has made my life complete and he has started my life all over again, I am now a mom and a wife – the best two things that a woman could be in this world! We look forward to what the Lord has in store for us the next two years and the next 50 years!

Well……September 23, 2007 marks our One Year Anniversary!!!! It has been a wonderful year of marriage for us, which included: Getting a dog, Thanksgiving at our new house in 2006 with both families, Christmas with both families, Celebrating New Years at home recovering from the flu (guess when you get married you get sick together), replacing all the duct work and purchasing a new AC system, renovating the kitchen, coaching club volleyball (Melanie was the head coach, Chris was her Assistant), attending 7 weddings, yard work for Chris every week, yard work for Melanie every season, joining a great community bible study at Church, getting into routines like walks and reading everyday and of course learning more and more about each other EVERY SINGLE day!!!!

You can see all our wedding pictures here.

If you don’t have New Years plans yet and you plan on being in Dallas, make sure you stop by our house. It will be Chris’s big 3-0 birthday and New Years Bash!!! Email us for more information if you want to come!
