18 months!
Dear Caden,
You are 18 months today! I can’t believe how fast the last 18 months have gone by! You are such a incredible joy to your dad and I. No matter the kind of day we are having you put a smile on our face and most of the time more than a smile…a full blown laugh. We love to cherish special times like slowly waking up in the mornings together, teaching you prayer time before meals, meeting daddy outside when he gets home from work, and just simply sitting back and watching while you run around the house with your toys and your happy, carefree attitude!
Here are some things that you do at this age:
- you are in 18-24 month clothing
- you LOVE your school one day a week
- you weigh 24lb 6oz which is 31% and your are 32.3 in tall which is 50%
- you love to sit and “read” your books, you will turn the pages and point to something and want us to tell you what it is.
- you take things to the trash when we ask, and sometimes when we don’t ask (i caught you throwing away one of your toys the other day…guess we know what NOT to get you now..haha)
- stacks blocks very intently and with an attitude if they don’t stay where you want them to(see video)
- you let us know when you need a diaper change, I think potty training is coming up VERY soon
- you are talking up a storm, of course your dad and I are the few that understand you right now…you say things like “ca ca” for jacket, “babo” for elmo, “caaaar” for car, “babib” for diaper, “baaabi” for baby, “coookie”, “bir” for bird, ball, go and much more!
- help me unload the dishwasher
- you love to climb on the living room chairs and sit there with your blankets and cup of milk
- when I say lets go you go find your shoes and bring them to me
- you have a death grip on your small camouflage blanket most of the time
- you give us slobbery kisses, but we love them!
- you love to wear your sunglasses now and you also get daddy’s sunglasses and put those on the top of your head the way daddy does
- you nod or shake your head for yes or no
- when your hungry you either go to the pantry and get food out or to your high chair and try to climb into it
- you LOVE Elmo, cars, trains and blocks
- you are becoming more of a picky eater, but still love fruit and most veggies
- you love for me to brush your teeth
- you like to pull the chair out from the table and sit like a big boy on the chair while we cook
- you are still a thumb sucker, but you haven’t had a bottle for about 4 months!
- you LOVE to play outside
- you help me pick up your toys
You are such a little boy already, not our little baby anymore. You amaze us at how much you understand us. I sometimes feel like you and I are having conversations. You are just growing up so fast, you catch me off guard sometimes with the things you do. You are so precious to us Caden James, your daddy and I love you beyond measure.
