California!!!
This past weekend we headed out to Los Angeles, California. Caden did GREAT on the plane! We even h=gt a comment from a fellow passenger that we have a “really great baby.” (yay for not being the mom with the crying baby!!!)
Chris had a client meeting all day friday in Seal Beach. So Caden and I headed to main street on Seal Beach and did some shopping and then walked on the pier.
We went in fun beachy/french shops like this.

We went and picked Chris up from work and then headed back to main street to eat dinner at a fun Thai restaurant. Unfortunately, we could not finish our dinner at the restaurant. Caden had gotten sick the night before and with the time change, teething etc. Caden did not much care for sitting in a highchair or on our laps for that matter. So for the first time ever we left a restaurant early due to a cranky baby. Probably won’t be the last time. Oh well!
Caden loved walking up and down the halls of the hotel and going up and down in the elevator. But when we were leaving he climded right on the luggage rack and rode it all the way down to the car!!

The next day we left Seal beach and headed to Pasadena where Chris’s grandparents live. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch with them from The Hat. AMAZING pastrami sandwiches.

Caden of course LOVED walking all around Grandma and Grandpa’s They have a huge yard with a fish pond, tangelo and avocado trees, orchid green house and more. With the beautiful weather we were hardly inside at their house. Caden also loved Grandma’s new puppies.

After lunch we headed to Chris’s Uncle Steve’s house where we were going to be staying for the next two days. On our way we stopped at Malibu beach and watched some surfers. Caden didn’t much care for the cold water and sticky sand. This was his second trip to the beach and both of them have been in the cooler months, we need to get him to the beach during the summer.

That evening Uncle Steve took us to where he works. Caden and Chris got to sit in a helicopter!

Caden had fun walking all around Steve’s work area. He is definitely a toddler these days! No more crawling!!

That night Steve made delicious steamed artichokes for an appetizer to an also delicious meal. Caden LOVED the artichokes, he ate them faster than all of us. Steve and his girlfriend Amanda spoiled us with AMAZING food all weekend.

The next day we had a family reunion with most of Chris’s extended family. Steve and Amanda out did themselves again with all the food and everyone brought some yummy desserts. I didn’t get an pictures of the food so you will jsut have to take my word for it.
Caden again, had a fun time walking all around Steve and Amanda’s house. He loved the stairs and the slanted drive way. Up and down, up and down, up and down…over and over and over again!!! He even managed to walk into Steve’s neighbors daughter’s boyfriend’s (hows that for degrees of separation! ha!) police car! He also loved the hot tub, so did we, but no pictures of that.

Family shot

Another great part of the trip is that one of my friends from Corpus Christi now lives on Point Mugu with her husband, Matt and Daughter Lexi. Her husband is currently deployed, so Amy and Lexi were able to come and stop by. It was so great to see them ad catch up! They had good news too…moving back to Texas in less than a month! YAY!!!

We left this morning and took the scenic way back to the airport. There was even a sign telling us it was the scenic way! I thought that was funny!

Then when we got to the airport we let Caden get allt he walking out of his system, but he was happy just watching the planes out the window!!

It was a great trip! we were so happy we were able to see so much family! You can see more pics here.
