Happy Halloween!!

Today was a beautiful day in Dallas and we were able to enjoy the beautiful day outside at the Dallas Arboretum taking our yearly family pictures! But my gosh….a 14th month old in a park for 3 hours, half of that time during his normal afternoon nap was not a good idea. Not to mention we have a 14 month old who likes to be adventurous and explore EVERYTHING, he just always seemed to go the direction that we WEREN’T going. Our friend Amy was our photographer and she was so patient with us and Caden. Thank you Amy! We all hoped we got some good shots, we will see soon enough and I will post some as soon as possible.

Before the pictures we were able to spend some time with The Boudreaus and their sweet boy Moses. Here are some shots of the boys. Caden was a sock monkey and Moses was a Real Madrid soccer player! :)

I love how all the other kids look right at the camera when I ask, Audrey last week, now Moses. But not Caden, no sir, he will purposely look away! Geesh!

We went to a costume/pumpkin carving party last night for our church group. We had a great time! You can’t see my sign but it says “nudist colony member on strike”…. basically meaning I didn’t want to dress up! Caden was our little monkey and Chris was a leaf blower!

As you can tell I didn’t actually carve a pumpkin. I gt a little creative this year and painted one. I saw it on this home decor blog that I follow and thought I would give it a try. I used a doily for the top and then traced over a printed out letter “M” with one of the pumpkin carving tools and then painted over my trace. I like the way it turned out, but I know how to do a better job next year now. You live and learn! :)

We had every intention of taking Caden trick or treating this evening, but after a long day and no afternoon nap we decided that it was best to put Caden to sleep, hand out some candy and then close up the house early and cozy up to a scary movie. So that is what I am off to do!!

But first…

If you were a trick or treater at our house, this is what you would be greeted by
